Accurate Flow Measurement for Conductive Liquids
Magnetic Flow Meters (Electromagnetic Flow Meters) are among the most reliable and maintenance-free instruments for measuring the flow rate of conductive liquids. At NPK Industries & Co., we supply world-class Magmeters from Krohne Marshall and Schneider Electric, engineered for industrial accuracy, long-term stability, and tough plant conditions.
Electromagnetic Flow Meters operate on Faraday’s Law of Electromagnetic Induction:
➡ When a conductive liquid flows through a magnetic field, it generates a voltage proportional to flow velocity.
This makes it ideal for water, wastewater, chemicals, dairy fluids, beverages, slurries, juices, acids, alkalis and more.

Working Principle
Faraday’s Law
When conductive liquid flows through a magnetic field, voltage is induced:
Flow velocity ↑ → Induced voltage ↑ → Measured flow ↑
Components:
- Magnetic coil (generates field)
- Electrodes (sense induced EMF)
- Liner (PTFE, PFA, Rubber)
- Body (SS, MS, PU-coated)
- Transmitter (IFC / IMT series)
Advantages of This Principle:
- No mechanical wear
- No clogging
- Accurate even with slurries
- Handles dirty water
