Selection Parameters — What They Mean (Client Quick Guide)

  1. For general-purpose flow measurement (liquid/gas/steam) — One meter covers multiple applications, reducing need for different meter types.

  2. Good accuracy across media — ±0.5% for liquids, ±1.0% for gas/steam makes 84CF reliable for process control, billing, mass-flow or energy calculations.

  3. Wide turndown ratio — 40:1 (liquids) / 20:1 (gas/steam) ensures flexible use over varying flow rates without sacrificing accuracy.

  4. Durable stainless-steel construction — Suitable for harsh industrial environments, corrosive fluids (with alloy shedder), and long-term reliability.

  5. Temperature & fluid versatility — Standard to high-temperature versions handle hydraulic fluids, steam, hot water, etc.

  6. Low maintenance — No moving parts, minimal wear and tear; ideal for continuous industrial operations.

  7. Mass-flow capability — With built-in RTD temperature sensor (and optional pressure compensation if needed), can measure mass flow — important for steam, gases, and energy accounting.

  8. Flexible installation options — Flanged, wafer, threaded or sanitary versions make it easy to integrate into varied piping systems.

  9. Good for hazardous / regulated areas — Explosion-proof / certified versions available; reduces fugitive emissions and leak paths compared to many flow meter types.

  10. Cost-effective alternative to Coriolis for many applications — Provides reliable volumetric (and mass, if compensated) flow measurement at lower cost and easier integration compared to Coriolis meters — especially for liquids, steam, and gas in moderate accuracy needs.

Description

84CF is a multivariable vortex flowmeter capable of accurate, maintenance-free measurement of flow (liquid/gas/steam) and—when equipped with temperature compensation—mass flow. It supports steam, gas, and liquid applications across process industries (chemical, utilities, oil & gas, energy, water, etc.). With robust stainless-steel construction, no moving parts, and multiple communication options, it is suited for general-purpose process, utility and energy applications.
