Hygienic Pressure Transmitter
Hygienic pressure transmitters are specialized instrumentation designed for sterile process environments, where accuracy, cleanliness, and compliance with 3-A, EHEDG, FDA standards are mandatory.
Baumer’s CleverLevel PFMN / PFMH are globally trusted for hygienic pressure measurement, especially in dairy, food, pharma, breweries, biotech, cosmetics, and clean-utility lines.
At NPK Industries, we supply, size, install, integrate and calibrate these transmitters for fully automated and compliant hygienic plants.

Why Hygienic Pressure Transmitters are Different
Unlike general industrial pressure transmitters, hygienic transmitters are engineered for:
✔ Zero dead-legs
✔ Crevice-free design
✔ Mirror-polished SS316L wetted parts
✔ Hygienic Tri-Clamp / DIN 11851 / Aseptic connections
✔ Full compatibility with CIP (Clean-in-Place) & SIP (Steam-in-Place) cycles
✔ High-temperature disinfection cycles (140°C steam)
✔ Resistance to aggressive cleaning chemicals (caustic / acid)
They ensure absolute product safety, avoid contamination, and maintain strict batch quality.

Working Principle – How Hygienic Transmitters Work
Step-by-Step Working
- Process pressure presses against the flush stainless-steel diaphragm.
- A food-grade silicon oil (or dry-cell option) transfers pressure to the internal sensor chip.
- The piezoresistive sensing element detects diaphragm deformation.
- Signal conditioning electronics:
- Linearize
- Temperature compensate
- Convert to 4–20 mA / IO-Link output
- Final output is sent to PLC/SCADA/DCS.
Advantages of Hygienic Working Principle
✔ No dead space → bacteria cannot grow
✔ No O-rings inside media zone
✔ Fully flush → ideal for viscous & sticky products
✔ Accurate even during CIP/SIP thermal shock
✔ Fast response (dynamic batching & filling)
