Whether your application requires high-accuracy billing, fuel transfer, viscous liquid measurement, or natural gas metering, NPK offers complete supply, installation, commissioning, calibration, and lifecycle support.

What Is a Turbine Flow Meter? (Technical Overview)

A Turbine Flow Meter measures liquid or gas flow using a turbine rotor that spins proportionally to the fluid velocity.

Working Principle:
  1. Fluid enters the meter and strikes the turbine blades.

  2. Rotor speed increases with flow rate.

  3. A magnetic or pick-up sensor detects blade movement.

  4. Each rotation creates electrical pulses.

  5. Electronics convert pulse frequency → volumetric flow.

Frequency ∝ Flow Rate

Turbine meters are excellent for:

✔ Clean liquids
✔ Hydrocarbons
✔ Chemicals
✔ Gases with filtration
✔ Custody transfer applications

What Is an RPD Flow Meter? (Technical Overview)

An RPD (Rotary Positive Displacement) Flow Meter measures actual volumetric displacement using interlocking rotors.

Working Principle:
  1. Two figure-8 shaped rotors rotate as fluid/gas enters.

  2. Each rotation displaces a fixed volume.

  3. The meter counts these displacements.

  4. Output → accurate totalized volume.

One rotation = known volume → extremely precise.

RPD meters are used for gas billing, natural gas distribution, fuel, and high-accuracy custody transfer.
