IFC050 Converter
✔ Selection Parameters — What They Mean for Clients
1. Industry & Application Suitability
IFC050 is best used where:
- Basic flow measurement is enough (no batching, no mass/energy calculations)
- Utilities / non-critical process lines
- Water distribution & pumping systems
- Irrigation & agricultural pipelines
- ETP/WTP networks
- Simple, low-cost installations
2. Choose IFC050 When You Need:
- Simple volumetric flow monitoring
- Lower installation cost
- Basic diagnostics
- No advanced communication (SCADA only needs 4–20 mA)
- Non-hygienic applications
- Stable readings for conductive fluids only
3. Accuracy Requirement
- Best for utility water, raw water, cooling water, treated water, non-critical chemicals
- If accuracy requirement exceeds ±0.5%, select IFC100 or IFC300
4. Sensor Compatibility
Choose IFC050 if using:
- OPTIFLUX 1000 → General water + basic industrial lines
- OPTIFLUX 2000 → Industrial water, slight chemical content
- WATERFLUX Series → Potable water, irrigation, distribution networks
For sanitary or demanding chemical applications → use IFC100/300.
5. Communication Needs
IFC050 supports only analog + pulse.
Select it when:
- SCADA/PLC needs basic 4-20mA input
- No HART, Modbus, Profibus, or Ethernet is required
- Low-cost monitoring system is the goal
6. Diagnostics & Maintenance
- Provides basic error indications only
- Empty pipe detection prevents false flow readings
- Ideal for low-maintenance water lines
- No advanced health monitoring (choose IFC100/300 for that)
